Firegrill - Food

A date night steak night! As we were one of the first tables of the night, the staff had obviously not had time to check each table and clean up, as there was still old food from the lunch service on the floor. In the same vein, the water glasses must have been stored for quite a long time facing up, as there was hair and some other large particle floating in my water! This wasn't a huge problem though, as we were drinking wine all night. We were given a complimentary bread starter and mushroom soup, simple but tasty, it was a nice surprise and tied us over while we waited for the steak, which came very quickly. Our sides were also simple but done well, with a huge loaded bowl of chips that were extra crispy. The steaks came smothered in a sauce, perhaps trying to smother the taste of the steak, which it did a good job at, but it wasn't a very nice sauce so we think it would have been nicer without it. Both of our steaks tasted relatively similar, and were cooked to perfection. They were served with a very nice potato side and pumpkin sauce that were a tasty surprise. We did get a discount on our food with First Table, but if we were paying full price for this food, at $59 per steak I would think this was quite overpriced, and you can get much nicer steak in Sydney for the same price. What we ordered: - Scotch Fillet - Wagyu Flank - Green Beans - Frites Drinks: Budburst Shiraz

Overall Rating: Good
